I’m not usually that big on oils but this is one I can’t do without. Jojoba oil is a carrier oil in which I like to dilute essential oils and use on my scalp and occasionally my ends. Unlike most oils I’ve come across, jojoba oil absorbs very easily and is very moisturizing.
In actuality, jojoba oil is not an actual oil. From Wikipedia:
Jojoba oil (pronounced “ho-HO-bah”) is the liquid wax produced in the seed of the jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) plant, a shrub native to southern Arizona, southern California and northwestern Mexico.
Jojoba oil is very similar in composition to the oil that our own skin produces. This is the only oil that I use on my scalp when I feel that I need it and I also occasionally use it on my skin. It never leaves that “hair grease” feeling on my hair.
I find myself using it a lot more as the weather gets cold and my skin gets drier. It’s very soothing to my itchy scalp, especially with a few drops of lavender and rosemary oil.

i sometimes add essentials oils and use it as a scalp oil
Hi, I just discovered your blog and am enjoying reading through it. Regarding jojoba, my hair just knows this is a wax because it tangles as soon as I apply the stuff on wet hair. I wish I could get the benefit others are from it.
