Find some good moisturizer for your hair.Try something with shea butter and essential oils.Stay away from petroleum. It will make your hair shine but is quite drying.Use only sulphate free shampoos.Do searches in natural hair forums ,you will find a wealth of info. All the best to you.

I am trying to do all that natural thing. My hair is so damaged and I am so tired of hair dressers telling me that my hair needs to be relaxed. I do not understand why my hair does not hold any relaxer. At this point,I am frustrated with my hair and deep down wish I had Angelina Jolie hair because I am obssess with her. On top of that i am broke. I hope to follow your blog and find products that are not too expensive that will help me make the transition. Today I will go see my hair dresser to ask her for a hair cut. If she insists on me relaxing my hair, I will walk out. I want to love my real hair but it is not easy in this society that we live in. I want to be proud of my black hair and stay away from fake hair that I cannot stand.

I found your blog today and I am already loving it. Wish you all the best.

I like the Hollywood Beauty Olive Creme.. I have used it with success and it is pretty moisturizing. If you're looking for something to add weight to your curls that is a good product. And as you mentioned it's very economical.

Also, for a really good product you can buy locally that is budget-wise, approx $4.00 is Organics (by African Best's) Texture My Way Curl Keeper! I have 4B hair really kinky and this worked really good at defining the wave in one night. I like to twist my hair and twist out the next day. The Elasta Qp Butter did not give me a good twist out the next day, although it is very moisturizing. I also brought the Haiveda Whipped Cream which is a great moisturizer but for twist outs in one night it did not give me a good twist out. I do not wear my twists two to three days yet as my hair still looks short so I like to wear a twist out.

This product, Organics Texture My Way Curl Keeper is a product one should try. It is new and designed for the new natural looks that are now becoming practical. They also make a gel which I have not tried. I am glad there is an inexpensive product that can work on 4B hair leaving it defined, shiny and moist.
