Thank you “Honey Dip” for sharing your BC story with us! It’s always inspiring to see that a long transition is possible and with beautiful results!
I decided to go natural for the overall health of my hair. I realized that years of relaxing it had thinned it out and it was not growing as fast as it once did. My last relaxer was November 26, 2007 and I big chopped December 18, 2008. I transitioned for a year and almost three weeks. It was a challenge, but I hung in there. I can tell a difference in my hair already. It is thicker and grows faster I love my natural hair. I have found that being natural, I now have more versatility with my hair. I can twist it, straighten it, roller set it or wear a wash and go style without having to spends hours on my hair or in a salon. It is very liberating and the more I get to know my natural hair, the more that I love it. This is one of the best decisions that I have ever made. I will be honest and say that I was worried about how my family and friends would take it, but once I made up my mind and realized that this was for me and not them, it was a done deal
