Homemade Whipped Butters/Heat Damage/”Nappy Hair”

  • Texture Playground has a good article on whipping your own butters that many of you might find interesting. She also has some good tips that might come in handy to you mixtresses!
  • Rock your Natural informs of the dangers of heat damage. I was re-reading this today because I flat ironed, so I needed to scare myself a little :)
  • Naturally Curly.com offers an update to the 3rd grade teacher who recieved so much negative response from parents after reading “Nappy Hair” to her class. This article was written sometime last year, but I’ve decided to highlight because I’ve heard both positive and negative things about this book and I wanted to decide for myself. I’ve ordered it and will offer my opinion on it when I get it.

Thanks for the tips. Have you ever heard of Healthy Choices Natural Market, HCNmarket.com they have wonderful healthy 100% natural products for hair, skin & health and sell at steep discount prices of 40% off–that’s near wholesale price which they sell to the direct public. I love their Locs Coils Waves & Curls Moisture Rich Styling Souffle and their Butterlicious Hair & Body Creme. The first moisturizer is special in that it really helps to detangle, soften and moisturizer well. I just joined their mail list and they even have a contest to win $100 if you join their mail list. I look forward to reading more of your blog entries. Check out HCNmarket.com Because they have lots of useful info like articles and research on cosmetic chemicals to stay away from etc. Have a good day.
