Review:
Of course I’m going to start this review with a comment on the smell. One word: Overwhelming.
It’s very, very, very sweet. I can not directly smell the jar. However, this is a good product.
I did not expect to like this because it’s pretty much nothing but oils and I generally don’t get along all that well with oils. I used this first on my scalp because I was having an itchy scalp day and needing something to soothe it. This product really help moisturize my dry scalp with very limited residue. I could barely feel it once it soaked in. I normally use oils on my scalp (when I feel the need), but sometimes it’s hard to tell if they’re really getting soaked in. Therefore, I was happy to have something that spreads easily. As I say with many products: A little goes a long way.
Next, against my better judgement, I tried it on my ends following moisturizing. I was very careful not to use much because it’s very greasy feeling. But it did not leave my hair greasy at all. It soaked in and my ends felt great. Again: A little went a long way!
Finally I tried this to slick back my edges. It was okay, but not a fabulous job.
One more thing about the smell. I don’t know if I just became used to it as I was using it or the fact that I used so little, but it was pleasant once I’d put it on. I could still smell it, but it wasn’t so overpowering as it had been straight out of the jar.
Will I buy this again? Prolly!

Nice review
) This is my favorite product next to Oyin’s whipped butter. You are right about the smell for those who don’t like strong smells ( I love it) it can be overpowering at first, but the smell actually fades a little but unlike some pomades, I can actually smell it throuhgout the day. I think you should send this review in to Oyin and suggest an unscented pomade.
I was also amazed at how my hair soaked up the oils and I tend to be heavy handed with products and it doesn’t feel greasy at all, other products with oils tend to sit on top of my scalp. I agree with you when it comes to using it to slicking back edges. I have to use it along with their Shine and Define (and satin scarf) to slick back my edges.
My hair does not care for oils either (generally), but for some reason I am itching to try this product.
Thanks for the review!
Hi.
I really really like this pomade. I had been spending lots of money on Miss Jessies, and I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t getting the result promised. I finally tried the Oyin Line and this was my favorite by far. I don’t know what people are complaining about, I LOVE THE SMELL.
I use it on my 3 yr old daughter and my 9 month old son. Their teachers are always asking me about the products because they say my kids smell good when they hug them.
It moisturizers without that heavy greasy feel that Miss Jessie’s always has. The products are also safe too.
My only complaint is that it really takes 2 weeks to get the order, but it is worth it.
I would recommend it to all 4a/4b hair types!
