Dr. Miracle and shame

Why don’t they have any?

Seriously, what is up with all the terrible ads and commercials that this company puts out?

I stumbled across this one a few months ago:

“Yuck”? To that beautiful mane of hair? Ugh, that ad is totally disgusting.

Here are more of their lovely commercials. I used to think they were funny in my relaxed days and now I just find them sad.

The only miracle that lady needs is a comb and brush.

Even if I thought these products were any good,  I wouldn’t use them solely based on their advertising.

Upon visiting their site (if you click here it will take you to intro which has audio, so just a warning if you’re at work) there is a woman with what looks like locs screaming and then Dr. Miracle saying “You need a miracle!” Unacceptable and shameful, Dr. Miracle!

Dr. Miracle: It will be a miracle if I ever buy these products.

Like you, I find their ads to be just sad because they feed into women’s insecurities!!
I will never buy their products!

The website intro is worst – it shows a lady with locs with audio saying she needs a new hair treatment :o (

I was in the BS looking at the pomade type products and they all contained either mineral oil/styrene acrylate polymers.

I’ve never seen the commercials up here in Canada but they are insulting. They make the women look stupid and mean too.

That’s just sad! The worse part is that they try to make them look natural prior to the miracle and of course, he comes in with the smooth, straight look and saves the day. Give me a break!

Those commercials were just pathetic.

Is it just me or are they attempting to peak the interest of woman who seem to act kind of “ghetto”* in reference to the ladies that act in the commercials?

How many women really wake up with their hair like that and how many really wake up yelling I NEED A HAIR TREATMENT??!!! lol The exaggerated script and animation is hilarious in the first commercial! lol

Why can’t they showcase a commercial with women speaking the way ***real*** women act and speak rather then exaggerate so much?!…..

The “Dr.” is presenting his/her products unprofessionally.

It’s true…even if their products were great, their advertisements are a turn off, especially for someone who is natural! Even before the commercials and before I decided to become natural, instincts told me not to purchase the products.

*please take no offense to mentioning the word ghetto

I agree that the women are totally stereotyped and rather embarrassing to watch.

Ugh, Dr. Miracles’s! I know one of the girls on the boxes (who is from, Lebanon, I beleive) is married to the inventor of Dr. Miracles, I think.

I actually used their nape growth balm once in high school. It burned and scabbed my scalp! I HATE those ads more than the products, though.
