It’s so weird that sometimes I don’t know how to feel when I look at old pictures of myself. I’ve said before on this blog that my hair used to be my pride and glory because it’s always been thick and I was always told it was long (I know differently after seeing some of the ladies on LHCF!)
Even though I love my hair now and would never change it, something still tugs at me when I see old pictures. I remember how happy I was with my hair in the following picture. This was exactly two years ago when this was taken.
I got caught looking at that old picture because I’d just taken a picture of today’s wild and crazy twist out. It’s been very windy today.
I guess it just goes to show that the mental transition is not always an easy thing, nor do you just “get over it” right away. Our feelings about the way we look and the way we are “supposed” to look are deep seated and do not often change.
It also hurts when people look back at picture along with you and comment on your old “pretty hair”. *sigh* So! Pity party’s over. Maybe it’s just PMS, who knows?

Yes, it’s PMS because YOU TRIPPING. LOL
Your natural hair is GORGEOUS.
I’ll be glad when mine is that long and thick. LOL
your natural hair is much nicer and healthy, don’t go back…i sometimes feel that way when my family members tell me my hair was so much nicer and not nappy when i had it relax, i’ve gotten to the point where i ignore them, i feel so much sexy and free since i went natural….i can’t wait for mine to grow out some
Your hair is beautiful in both pictures. Especially the second. But I, and everyone else who reads this blog, are a bit biased.
I agree your natural hair is beautiful
) The old style was cute, but the style would just blend in with the crowd – the new natural you will always get a double-take
)
Girl: Your hair is gorgeous EITHER way! That’s the beauty of black hair, the extreme versatility we have.
I prefer you with your natural napps.They’re goooorgeous! and yes many people still tell me i used to be soo pretty with my relaxed hair
I think your hair looks wonderful now. It is beautiful!
Well the difference now is that if you wanted look #1 or #2 you could achieve it! I love natural hair because its so versatile. I go from curly to straight back to curly with ease (and some conditioner and water) in seconds flat. With relaxed hair you don’t have that flexibility. I think you look beautiful in both pictures, embrace both.
