Review:

If you like butters, you will probably like this. I found this to leave both my hair and skin wonderfully soft and supple. It feels really heavy at first, but then just sinks in. My skin feels kind of greasy  when I use it but that goes away soon after, leaving soft skin.

The consistency is almost like shea butter. I have to warm it up in my hands before using it because it’s so thick.

I prefer to use this on dry hair as opposed to wet hair. I tried to use it on wash n go, both under and over a styler and it just did not agree with me. For one thing, it left a residue that lasted about an hour. Not cool when you’re rushing to work that morning.  It did leave my hair soft though, especially over KCCC, reducing crunchiness.

I loved this most of all with twists!

The smell can be a bit overpowering. It’s nice in moderation, but take a big whiff and you might just get knocked off your feet.  It dissipates once it’s on the hair though. And the price might be a drawback for some, though I will say a little goes a long way.

Will I buy this again? Not sure. I’ve got quite a bit to last me though until I decide.

Edit (October 09): This has become one my favorite butters!

I love this stuff. I like to use it on my twists to seal the ends, especially when I’m wearing a twistout. Twisting my hair into large twists at night with a littl bit of nourish in the sign gives me a shiny, healthy looking twistout that lasts over a week.

This smell of this product is absolutely one of my all-time favorites. Unfortunately, that’s the best feature of N & S for me — you have to have thick hair to really get results or enjoyment from it. My hair is too thin and I get weighed down even by a small amount.

I’ve been seriously thinking about trying out the Jane Carter line and this is the one thing I want to try the most. I know I shouldn’t look at the price considering I’ve spent a lot of other things, but man, $22 for only 4 oz.?

I wasn’t impressed with the product and I have thick kinky curly hair. My hair needs moisture.

I bought this stuff because I had heard so many great things about it. When I got it home and opened it though, the smell was way too overpowering for me. I’ve only used it twice and each time the result was marginal at best. I have other products that yield better results. Now, under my bathroom sink it sits. :O(

Great review! It does have a strong scent. My daughter loves it. It’s a bit heavy for me.

I have used nourish and shine for 3 years on my locks and scalp. It is the only product that I have EVER used on my hair that didnt make my scalp itch. I Love it!! The smell is not over powering. The smell is soft and gentle. And everyone that I introduce Nourish and Shine to loves it too. It is the only product that I will continue to use on my hair.
