Mediatakeout, which I try to stay away from( mostly because an antivirus thing pops up everytime I go there and also because the people there just make me want to shake my head) posted this as the title to the pictures below:
SOLANGE MAKES AN APPEARANCE WITH BEYONCE … HER HAIR IS STILL REAL SHORT … BUT NOW THAT IT’S GROWING IN … IT DOESN’T LOOK SO BAD!!!
Really, MTO? Is it because it’s “grown in”. I guess it could be several reasons:
Is it because she’s dressed up in these pictures ?
Is it because she’s not wearing those sunglasses and we can see more of her features?
Is it because she’s in better lighting?
Is it because it’s grown in?
Is it because it’s “styled” (looks like it might be brushed)?
Is it because it’s a different color?
Is it because it doesn’t look as coarse and kinky as it did in the prior pictures (this is my bet)?

ugh… i can’t go to that site either. the comments are so rude and immature. solange looks like a model. fierce! love the outfit, shoes and hair do swagger.
I love both pictures of Solange’s hair. I think she looks fab!
The no glasses picture looks more styled: the side part, the darker color. But, I think just the fact SHE looks done makes her hair look DONE too.
Yeah, its the fact that she looks “more done” in the media’s eyes… and that she’s showing more of her beautiful features. I wish they would just leave her alone. Women have been doing this for years!!!
I do not like as my friend calls it “Mediafake Out” because they are so disrespectful. She looks good, and I just think this short hair really suits her face. She looks pretty.
She’s beautiful. I’m glad to see one of them out of the weave. It’s refreshing. She rocks.
My hair looked crazy when I first cut it too, but I think that’s because it still had some straight strands that needed to be cut off. Anyway, Solange looks great and I hope she stays natural so we can see her with big beautiful natural hair. I saw her in open for Estelle and she was awesome!
IMO she looks like a model in the first picture. The picture with the crazy 80’s glasses…. hot mess!
Thanks for pointing that out. Grown in? It definitely looks the same length with an added (dare I say) S-curl, Nouveau, Texturizer, something and a part! That makes it so much more acceptable than the “bush” I suppose she had before!(Pure faceitousness on my part LOL @ these hair issues.) I think Solange looks beautiful in BOTH pictures and I commend her for beginning the journey…now for her sister…(sigh)
I am so glad someone else was thinking the same thing. I was not a fan of solange before the cut, but after…i was like WOW DO YOUR THING GIRLFRIEND. She looked FAB IN BOTH SHOTS….people called her everything but a child of God, i could not understand it. i have said it before and i will say it again to all my natural sistas. when i see a sista cut her hair like this out and about i just smile cuz i know that is a STRONG WOMAN WHO KNOWS HERSELF and is about BUSINESS…and solange proved that she is no shrinking violet. SHE LOOKS HOT DANG IT……
I have to be honest. I hated those first pics that came out. I thought she looked a mess. I thought the clothes were bad, the shades were bad, and the hair was bad. To me it looked very dry and the edges were raggedy. Now with the new pics, she looks like she’s taking care of her hair. Its looks moisturized and her edges are growing in. I don’t think it looks any less kinky or that she puts chemicals in it. It looks like she ran a comb through it. Plus, now you can see her face. Her face it was makes the cut so fabulous!
It’s the makeup and clothes.. her hair is pretty much the same (except the part) so it has to be the makeup and clothes that made her look 10x’s better than the first pic.
I love her new natural look. Something u don’t expect from the Knowles family. They seem like one of those “Good Hair” type, keeping up appearances type of Creole families. That’s why I love her so much better than Beyonce.
Lovin it! It brings the attention back to her face, which was overshadowed before.
I’m in love with Solange. She is absolutely beautiful. Bravo to her for going against the hollywood norm of long hair.
I wish more black women would appreciate themselves more without the long hair standards that have been forced on us and enslaved us.
