So, Macy was one of the first contestants eliminated from this round of competition. I’m not a big TV watcher anymore, but I’ve been trying to follow it some.
The following clip shows me exactly why she was eliminated so quickly. (Sorry, got to keep it real!)
Love the dress, wish I had one. The dance moves… eh. I have to commend her for getting out there and trying though!
She did much better in the cha-cha, see around the 2:00 mark.
Now, on to more important things: I think her hair looked really great. It was nice to see a dancer out there that didn’t have the same run of the mill hair. And it looked fab on her! Go Macy!

What do you think her more recent ‘do?
The picture below has been circulating online. I don’t know if she’s worn her hair like this before, but I’ve never seen it on her. I can’t tell exactly what was done…is it a “messy” rollerset or a twist out done with really big twists? Whatever it is, I personally like it. Gotta love Macy! And she’s 42 years old! I never would’ve thought!

Thanks for reading! Remember that our hair is a gift and that it can blossom and grow if we take good care of it. If you have questions, want to share your story, or just want to say hi, please email me at kcurly@newlynatural.com

I like it. I think it fits her personality and image. Go Girl!
i automatically thought of ursula from the little mermaid but i do think it looks good on her. she has a quirky personality.
I kind of like the hairstyle shown here, I would try it when I get that much hair, she has some serious hair on her head, as 4 femininity, Ellen has more femininity than Macy Gray, sorry, since we r “keepin it real”.
Okay, I be diggin on Macy’s hair but this style…oh nooo. Macy is her own person and I can respect her for that. But I must say my initial thought was “Medusa”.
Come on people just because your hair is in it’s natural state doesn’t mean wear your hair in any ol’ hair style…. but then…maybe it was a trial and error style. She tried a style it did not turn out the way she expected it to but said hey, I went through the process so I am gonna work this. I am not going to lie that would have been me. And I would have worked it just like Macy…and what!
