I have to agree with SA, Afroveda butters do nothing but sit on top of my 4a hair. I ordered all of the butters during her Black Friday ’09 sale, the contents of all the jars looked and smelled the same to me. The ingredients seperated (oil and cream) and it honestly smelled like a hair removal product. I used the butters on my feet until I couldn’t take the smell and just had to toss. Needless to say, I will not repurchase!

I took advantage of the black fri sale and got the almond butter and her shikakai oil. i like the butter is light and i have no problem w/ the smell, i guess cuz i love almond scents! i use her oil to grease my scalp every 2 days and it soaks in like love!

however, i probably wont re-purchase for a while becuz i like mixing my own oil concoctions and have plenty of butters to last me!

I think I’m the only one who can’t use Afroveda. When I put it on my hair, it’s moisturized. Within hours my hair is dry. I don’t get it. And this is with all the butters (during her sale back in October I got all four). I just…I don’t know.

Gotta say with this one particularly I didn’t like the smell. It smelled like an relaxer I had when I was in my teens years and I loathed it then.

I’ve used this before with success. The first time I used it the scent drove me nuts all day – not that I dislike it, it’s just strong. I tried using it last night for a wet twist but it did not “play nice” with my leave in and the infamous little white balls starting appearing. I quickly switched to the SheaAmla (also from Afroveda) and all was well this morning.

I just got mine a week ago and did the most amazing micro twists can’t wait to try it on a twist out (my fave style). The scent was a little strong out of the jar but it does fade, that was a good thing because I think something in it may have triggered my allergies. This was my first time using Afroveda and they now have my business. I will be washing my daughters hair and re-doing her twists with it today, check out my video review on my blog.
