Review:

I described the scent as mild because I can’t really pinpoint what it smells like. As a newbie to the Bee Mine product line, I have noticed that most of the products have a very mild smell.

The consistency is actually not as thick as it looks in the picture below. It kind of has the consistency of yogurt, but a bit thicker. This does make it considerably easier to spread on compared to a dense butter.

I’ve used this on both dry and wet hair. For the dry hair, I retwisted an old braidout to re-moisturize. It worked incredibly well, both moisturizing and softening my hair. I used it a few times over a week and experienced no buildup (though buildup is not often a problem for me in general)

The next time I used it was when I banded wet hair. Again, soft and moisturized hair. Oh and I almost forgot, super soothing to the scalp! I slathered a bit of this on and my itchy scalp went away.

In other words, awesome!

Yeah, I really like the bee mine as well. Soft, moisturized, and defined my hair. Winner.

I was wondering if you could compare this to Afroveda’s butters. I’m using them now and my fave is the Shea-Amla but I can’t take the smell. Is this as moisturizing as Shea-Amla?

Fina, that’s a hard one…I think they are about equal in moisture, though afroveda is a heavier product. Which can be good or bad depending on what you’re doing.

The LBCD is a one of a kind product to be used year round. I’ll have to try banding my hair with it soon.
