Awwww! This is just wrong on so many levels!
So, even the lion, who sports one of the most awesome fros in the animal kingdom, has to be altered by the creamy crack. Venezel is a Japanese straightening product and this is probably one of the most, um, creative (?) relaxer ads I’ve ever seen.
It also makes a good point. Relaxers just ain’t natural! That poor lion! LOL!

With so many Japanese straightening products out there, it makes me wonder how prevalent curly/wavy hair really is among Japanese. I know some Korean people and others in Asia sometimes have curly hair, but the dominant portrayal of Japanese is one of stick-straight hair.
And that lion…whoa. The lion does *not* look right.
This kind of imagery gets on my last nerve! It sort of sends the message that textured (non-straight) hair is animalistic and needs to be tamed. I wonder how well this ad would do in the U.S. Do you think Americans would be offended by this ad?
sseeeeeee…now they know that’s just so wrong on so many levels….
It’s so over-the-top ridiculous looking. I guess that’s why it seems sorta funny to me. (Okay, I’m ducking now!)
Oh, the lion looks so sad and impotent (meaning, devoid of power). I actually think this is a great picture to challenge people on their idea that beauty/regality only comes in the form of straight hair.
bwahahahahahahahaha…..oh god, my stomach hurts

I’m natural and all about natural hair but I bust out laughing when I saw this. It’s just so ridiculous on so many levels! Lawd have mercy, smh.
That poor lion looks all sad. I live in Japan and they always have crazy advertisements like that.
What the hell?!!! LMAO now that’s a HAM!

i laughed at first then shook my head for the remainder of the reading. Where is PETA
