Hi, I really enjoy your blog. I was wondering if you have ever featured anybody that makes their own T-Shirts depicting our love of natural hair? Or do u know of a site that I can purchase some?

Mophead, check out the “Business Owner” interviews under “Featured Ladies”, there are several ladies that make shirts. You can also check out cafepress and just type in “natural hair” in the search function. Thanks for reading!

Hi! I have been growing out a relaxer for almost six months. I didnt like the results because it was difficult to manage the different hair types. Yesterday, I cut all off the relaxer off myself. I know see that my hair type is between a 3c and 4a. I have no idea what to put on my hair as far as conditioners and shampoos…not even what to moisturize my hair with. It is beautifully curly with wet hair, but when it dries. It really dries up and looks unhealthy. What can I do? Im new to this, I have about 3-3 1/2 inches of hair. Thanks

Hi! I am a very new transitioner..I am only on month number 2. I decided that I will not BC and that i will transition over a loooong period of time. I have been doing tons of research and reading tons of forums and blogs. I was wondering though, is there a certain routine that I need to follow as a newbie? Is it okay to do twist outs already? Also, when I get cornrows, my scalp itches so bad and is really really dry…and advice?

I have noticed that most sites seem to cater to naturally curly hair instead of just natural hair as a whole. As of now, I usually twist or plait my hair at night, remove plaits in the a.m., and then brush in a pony tail. Is this ok for my hair ( I only have about an inch or 2 of new growth…all advice is welcomed. Thanks in advance!

Hi KCurly,
As always, thank you for having such an informative site. Your wealth of knowledge has helped me tremendously :-)

I have a henna related question. I noticed other naturals mentioning henna, amla and cassia as part of their hair care regimen. I’ve done some research and from what I’ve read, it looks like my hair can benefit from the treatment.
Have you ever used any of these products yourself? If so, what were the results? And if you haven’t, are you interested in trying it?

Thanks,
Icela
