Review:

Can you say yummy? You will after you use these. I was sent the Vanilla and Citrus lip balms and I love them. I may not suffer from facial dryness, but my lips stay dry.

Though these did not cure my dryness long term, they were very soothing and I applied it twice a day. The smells are nice but not overwhelming. My favorite of these two would have to be the vanilla. (I would love to try the ice cream flavor though!)

For anyone worried about, or hoping for, a taste,  I didn’t really notice any especially with the vanilla. I did have a hint of taste with the citrus though.

The other flavors are blueberry, mocha, spearmint, and ice cream!

Lavender Calm Lotion with Jojoba

Price: $14.99

Ingredients: Organic Aloe Juice, Organic Lavender Distillate, Organic Coconut Oil, Kosher Vegetable Glycerin, Emulsifying Wax NF, Palm Stearic Acid, Jojoba Oil, Witch Hazel, Vitamin E, Phenoxyethanol, Lavender Essential Oil, Polysaccharide Gum, Organic Black Willowbark Extract, Mannan, Neem Oil, Rosemary Oleoresin, Tetrasodium EDTA, Citric Acid.

Review:

This felt like your run of the mill lotion. In other words, I didn’t feel anything special about it. The ingredients are great, however, and the smell of lavender is nice and relaxing before going to bed. The lotion was really mild, enough so that I could use it on my son’s sensitive skin without any issues.

The lavender smell is pretty strong at first but fades after application.

The folks at Made from Earth were too kind and sent me many products to review. I’ve been using them over the last month or so to try them all out and give a thorough review for each one.

These products are very interesting as they use a lot of fruits in the ingredients, along with other organic materials.

I’ll have the second part of this post up tomorrow, but here a few for right now!

I love this facial cleanser.

The directions say that you can use this as a face mask, by leaving it on for 3 minutes or you can just rub it on and then rinse. I’ve done both, but my favorite option has to be using it as a face mask.

Usually, I’d apply it in the shower, then wash up/shave my legs/whatever and then rinse it off. I can’t quite say that it tingles, but it’s incredibly refreshing. My face feels wonderful  and fresh after having it on. It’s not stripping at all, but cleans enough so that applying a moisturizer afterwards is not overwhelming.

You can’t beat the ingredients either. The smell is very mild and, in my experience, does not linger.

Organic Aloe & Jojoba Creme Therapy

Another fantastic product!

This creme is a little gloppy but absorbs fast. Very moisturizing without being heavy or greasy. I loved it on both my face and body. The directions say to use it 2-3 times a week, but I could (and did) use it everyday.

My son also suffered a little sunburn on his back after we spent the day at a water park and this really soothed his skin. (FYI, pure aloe vera gel also works great on sunburn…and yes black folks can get sunburn!)

Three Berry Daily Face Serum

I was intrigued by this serum. Here’s a picture to show the consistency:

This is one “squirt” of the product

The price had me goggling (for 2 oz) , but it takes such a small amount to cover your face that it would you would probably get your money’s worth. The bottle has a pump on it to dispense the product and, in my case, I didn’t even need a full “squirt” to handle my face.

It’s got the same mild, neutral smell similar to the other products in this line.

To be honest, I didn’t  care for it. It felt like my face was really coated after I used it. I don’t usually have problems with excessive facial dryness, so maybe that’s the issue. I tried using less and though that made the situation better, it still didn’t feel right.

The best time I found to use this was at night, as my face didn’t feel quite so gummy in the morning.
