I found this soap while wondering around the Piggly Wiggly (if you don’t know what that is, then you are obviously not a southern girl). It was 1.99, had all natural ingredients and I could smell it’s earthy scent through the box. What did I have to lose?
I threw it in my buggy (If I I’m in the Piggly Wiggly, it’s a “buggy”…If I’m in Kroger, it’s a “shopping cart”) and didn’t really think about it. I noticed it again at home and tried it that night. I have been in love with ever since. I have since stopped using my body wash and rotate between this and another soap. It’s not overly moisturizing, but it leaves my skin feeling clean, but not dry.
I work at a job that requires me to constantly wash/scrub my arms and hands, which leaves me with chapped, sometimes slightly bleeding, forearms after a few days work. This soap is the only thing I use on my arms following work, because that skin has become so sensitive that a lot of things set it off to flare up.
Here are the ingredients:
African Black Soap Base, African Shea Butter, Oats, Aloe, Plaintain Extract, Vitamin E, Essential Oil Blend, Vegetable Glycerin, Palm Ash, Rosemary Extract, Iron Oxides
That’s it! Wonderful ingredients for a great price. If you can’t find it locally, Nubian Heritage has it available online (as well as many other products I’d love to try!) If any of you lovely readers has tried any of their other products, please do share recommendations!
