Here’s a press release (released in August I think?) about the company Zenzele, if anyone is interested. No, I’m not their number one fan as I just started using their products, but I like to keep ya’ll abreast of the latest product junkie news ;)

ZENZELE (zen’zay-lay) -has just launched its highly anticipated line of natural hair and body products. All of the products consist of a unique base of aloe vera blended with rich Essential Oils, Olive Oil, Safflower, Vitamin E, Castor and Jojoba Oil. ZENZELE believes in embracing the natural elements of the earth and claims that nature is the root of a healthy hair and body. Out of the two beauty will follow. None of their products are of any animal by-product, nor do they conduct animal testing. Every ZENZELE product is free of paraben, mineral oil, petroleum, phthalates, and sulfates.

ZENZELE products enhance natural beauty. Shortly after using ZENZELE products hair is healthier, nurtured, rejuvenated, natural curl pattern enhanced, moisture replenished and natural oils delivered to hair follicles.
The product line is a true testament to its success. At the moment it consists of an exotic assortment of Moisturizers, Shampoos, Hair Oils & Conditioners that both women and men can enjoy. “You can definitely tell that ZENZELE products are made with love and all the finest ingredients of the earth” says a loyal ZENZELE customer.

Since it’s launch on July 25th 2010. ZENZELE has obtained two retail accounts and will soon be available in Whole Foods. ZENZELE’s Shea Shea Hair Souffle and Sangria Hair Oil are two of its most popular products.

ZENZELE was founded in 2010 from the 15 year natural hair styling experience and natural product awareness of Nereshte Kambishamba. Having styled various natural hair textures and grades from the likes of Stevie Wonder, Nereshte found herself frustrated by not finding a single ethnic targeted natural product line free of paraben, mineral oil, petroleum, phthalates, and sulfates. Nereshte decided to start her own, thus sustaining ZENZELE’s meaning. “Do It For Yourself!”

All of the products of ZENZELE are available for purchase online at www.zenzele.us

Review:

FYI, Zenzele sent me this to try out.  This is my first time using this product line.

This is some good stuff! I loved the consistency…so rich and creamy. Application was a breeze and it really softened my hair. The scent: I can’t really place what it smells like. I almost want to call it fruity, definitely sweet. It’s not heavy though and faded after a day or so from my hair.

Now I do have to say that this is heavy moisture and it would be pretty easy to overdo it if too much is used. I can tell it’s got a large oil content.  It doesn’t matter though, because my hair loved it. My twists (done on wet hair) were nice and moisturized afterwards.

The only complaint I have is that it doesn’t provide a whole lot of sheen/shine to the hair.

Oh wait, I have one more complaint, albeit a small one. When I used it to moisturize my dry puff, it took awhile for it to absorb into my hair. In other words, I could see small traces of it in my hair for about 45 minutes after application.
